Teaching Plans
‧ We will employ professors of cross-culture studies, journalism, mass communication, translation, economical trade, and writing, to teach in our school. ‧ Since 1999, students have been attending different classes based on English Level Test of our department. ‧ Since 1999, college students of senior year (the 4-5th. year) have the opportunities to attend small classes. ‧ Since 2000, students students from the 1st to the 3rd year have been separated into different listening classes in accordance with their Level Test. ‧ Since 2001, students from the 1st to the 3rd year attended speaking classes with rankings based on Level Test they took. |

Research plans
1.Teachers’specialties, teaching, and research have been regulated since 1998. 2.Study groups were established in 1998 to propose study plans. 3.Teachers in the English Department were supposed to present 3 papers in total every year. 4.We Purchased a variety of teaching research databases in order to enhance teaching quality and encourage research and publishing. 5.We invite professional translators to form translation- teaching groups. 6.We purchased microfilm duplicators and microfilms. 7.We enhance interlibrary loan services. 8.We award teachers who have published papers on international or national journals or periodicals. 9.Teachers hosting NSC Projects will be granted flexible arrangement on classes such as concentration of office hours or arrangement of one-day leave in a week. 10.We hold Applied English Research Conference regularly. |
Curriculum designs
1.Elective and required courses are offered in three tracks, including English education, commerce and cultural and creative industry. 2.We invite specialists to involve in discussions on curriculum design. 3.We strengthen the connection between the 5-year junior college and the 2-year college. 4.We revise curriculum structure to meet the need of further education and entry into career life. 5.We combine language teaching with computer technology. 6.We digitalize teaching equipment in classrooms. 7.We conduct distant learning.
Evaluations of Learning Effectiveness 1.Administering English Proficiency Test with Taipei Language Center. (subjects from 2 and 4-Year Colleges students; The test is optional for students from 4-Year College of Division of Continuing Education.) 2.Designing evaluation methods for English speaking ability. 3.Set up English proficiency test benchmark. |
