Introduction:
Performing Arts Center has multiple functions, suitable for holding conferences, giving orientations and talks, performing dramas, and screening films.It is complete with a stage with a seating capacity for 120. It can be divided into four areas: the stage, the seats of the audience, the control room, and the preparation area.

Audio-Video System:
1.AUDIO

There is a 32-input sound mixing mainframe, with DVD player, video player, input of sounds, and it is also equipped with 14 sets of wireless microphones (it can increase to the maximum of 24 sets of microphones). There are two kinds of microphones available for use in drama performance: 1) high sensitive microphones on the upper hands of the stage 2) tie-clip miniature microphones.

 

2.VIDEO

The matrix system with multiple signal inputs and outputs can be connected to DV camera, notebooks. It is able to select messages received from the apparatus and transmit the messages to specific plasma TV or to all the plasma TVs and projectors. DVD, VHS players, and computers can also be connected to the matrix mainframe. By means of cable TV system, the scene recorded with DV or VHS can be transmitted to all the TVs on campus.

 

3.LIGHT:

12 sets of light fixtures are used on the stage and the proscenium. The maximum of light fixture can add up to 24 sets. With light control system, different effects of light can be effected along with changes of scenes. There is a set of tracking light fixture in the control room, to produce the special lightening effect. There are three types of screens on the stage, which can be replaced by other screens suitable for their stage effect.

 

Administration Rules:

1.Rules for application:

 

1.

Users need to make application in Department of English in advance, around two weeks before
the performance. Any application not following the procedure would be denied the privilege to use
the lab. The activities held on behalf of Wenzao with the president’s permission are not included
in this case.

2.

The external users should come to Wenzao, apply and pay the maintenance fee, electricity and
water bill, and an advance deposit.

3.

For the in-school activities, all applications should be made in name of the chief of the sectors,
and application from student societies should be applied in name of section chief of extra-
curriculum office. For outside-school loaners/appliers, the application should be made with
official papers.

4.

Except for formal performance, student societies or associations can only apply for rehearsal of
their performance for once. Flexible adjustment would be allowed in case of important
performance.

5.

Activities held by student societies, associations—all of them should be held during office hours
(from Mon. to Fri.). If activities not be held during office hours, the appliers need to pay extra fees
to staffs as the rules state above.

2.Tariff and notice:

1.

For outside-school groups, we charge NT$ 1,200 for four hours as a unit. The length of time
spent under 4 hours would still be charged as a unit of four hours.

2.

All the facilities are available for users who loan the performing center. If the performance is not
performed during office hours, the loaners need to pay extra fees to our staffs per person with
NT$200 for working overtime. The school activities with approval are not restricted in this case.

3.

Users should pay an advance deposit of NT $4,000. It will be returned on condition that no
damage is made in the center during activities.

4.

The decoration is under the loaner’s charge. Everything should be restored after use. The room
should be kept clean and neat. During activities, smoking, drinks and food are forbidden. Users
are responsible for the cleaning, safety and order in the performing center.

5.

If any facilities are found missing or damaged, the loaners should pay for the loss.

3.Fines in case of violations

1.

Users are responsible for decoration in need of the performance. Decorations, if there is any, should be removed after use. The room should be kept clean. During activities, smoking, drinks, and food are forbidden. One will be fined NT$ 1,000 for violations.

2.

Users will be fined NT$ 500 for not cleaning up waste paper or trash after use.
